Beginning with national sponsorship of UCP's
Telethon four decades ago, The Hearst Corporation
has had a long and valued history supporting the
work of United Cerebral Palsy-both locally in
New York City as well as across the country.
Founded by William Randolph Hearst, The Hearst
Corporation is today one of the nation's largest
diversified communications companies. Its business
interests include magazine, newspaper and business
publishing, cable networks, television and radio
broadcasting, Internet businesses, television
production and distribution, newspaper features
distribution, and real estate.
Led by President and CEO Frank A. Bennack, Jr.,
Hearst executives and staff have contributed their
personal time and efforts to advance the mission
of UCP/NYC through numerous fundraising activities,
including sponsorship of the annual Humanitarian
Awards Dinner and participation in the upcoming
Women Who Care Luncheon. In addition, a very special
relationship exists between The Hearst Foundation
and UCP/NYC's Brooklyn Children's Center, which
is named in memory of Millicent V. Hearst.
