Preschool Programs

UCP of NYC's Preschool programs are year-round, comprehensive educational and therapeutic programs serving children ages three to five with physical and/or developmental disabilities. UCP of NYC teachers are exceptionally bright, caring and capable of preparing our preschool participants for the next steps in their developing lives. Our preschool programs are offered in a setting where children, with and without disabilities, are given the opportunity to learn and grow together.

UCP of NYC basic Preschool services include:

• Special Education
• Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapy
• Nursing and Dental Care
• Psychology
• Social Work
• Adaptive Equipment
• Assistive Technology
• Seating and Positioning
• Aquatic Therapy and Swimming (Brooklyn and Staten Island only)

In addition, UCP of NYC offers several specialized classroom models geared to the unique needs of children with physical handicaps. These include:

• Augmentative Communication
• Computer Assisted Instruction

UCP of NYC Preschool programs are offered year-round except for scheduled holidays and a three-week summer vacation. Our Preschool program is open five days a week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., with round-trip transportation provided at no cost to families.

UCP of NYC Preschool and School-Age special education programs are made possible by the New York State Education Department, and the New York City Department of Education. Services are provided at no cost to families.
