UCP of New York City is a longtime leader in advocating for the rights of individuals with disabilities. As the founding affiliate of the UCP national network,  our historical efforts raising awareness gave birth to great advances in care for children and adults with disabilities, as well as to the civil rights movement responsible for the Americans with Disabilities Act.

With concerns regarding the New York State budget, we are asking our families and supporters to speak up now and help us fund critical services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

To stay informed and add your voice, please join our mailing list.

Things you can do today:

  • Join the "Families Cannot Be Caregivers Forever" Campaign to advocate for supports and services for people with developmental disabilities.
  • Contact your assemblymember and senator to urge their support for funding of programs and services that benefit individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Call the Assembly Switchboard and ask for your Assemblymember 518-455-4100
  • Call Senate Switchboard and ask for your Senator 518-455-2800
