Camilla Barungi Hosts Santa Project Party at Bier International

The Santa Project Party & Auction benefitting United Cerebral Palsy of New York City (UCP of NYC), one of the largest health nonprofit organizations in the U.S., was held on Wednesday Dec. 7th at Harlem’s Bier International.  Beyond the core programs and services UCP of NYC delivers year round, proceeds from the Santa Project Party and Auction help fund special needs equipment requests and purchase holiday gift cards for children with disabilities in UCP of NYC’s programs.

Developmental Disabilites Planning Council Touts Healthlink Curriculum

New Your State's Developmental Disability Planning Council touted UCP of NYC's Healthlink Teaching Curriculum as as succes story on its website.  The teaching curriculum which is designed to educate health professionals about the needs of children and adults who are medically fragile is described as "an innovative multi-dimensional curriculum and training." Healthlink for Nurses Curriculum and Teaching Materials

United Cerebral Palsy of New York City (UCP of NYC) received a 3 year grant from the New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council to develop and field-test a curriculum for nursing students and nurses, specifically designed to educate health professionals about the needs of children and adults who are medically fragile.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Reception for United Cerebral Palsy of New York City’s newest state-of-the-art habilitative health and educational program Center for individuals with disabilities, was held on October 19th, 2011.

UCP of NYC Awarded 3 Year CARF Accreditation

UCP of NYC has received accreditation for a period of three years by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities for its Community and Employment Services, including Day Habilitation, Residential, In-Home and Freestanding Respite, Medicaid Service Coordination, and Supported Employment Programs.

Edward R. Matthews, CEO of UCP of NYC, appointed by Governor Cuomo to Medicaid Redesign Team

Governor Andrew Cuomo has appointed Edward Matthews, CEO of United Cerebral Palsy of New York City (UCP/NYC ), to his Medicaid Redesign Team. Mr. Matthews along with 26 additional health care leaders will be charged with providing the Governor recommendations on the Medicaid budget.
