UCP of NYC TechWorks offers hands-on use of adapted toys and switches, adapted computers and peripherals, wheelchairs and inserts, augmentative communication systems, daily living devices, home and workplace modifications, environmental control units, adapted telephones and much more. Resources and services available through UCP of NYC Techworks include: Lending LibrariesIndividuals may borrow adapted toys and switches, environmental control units and other equipment UCP of NYC makes available for loan. Our lending libraries include books, magazines, and audio/video material from our extensive collection. The resources of the lending library are geared to support the needs of individuals of all ages. Equipment Exchange ProgramUCP of NYC assists individuals with accessing new and/or used assistive technology equipment made available through individual donations and through TRAID-IN, a directory administered by the New York State Office of Advocate for Persons with Disabilities. Assistive Technology TrainingUCP of NYC is highly committed to training consumers, professionals and family members on a variety of assistive technology topics. We offer informational materials, pamphlets, and videotapes at our Technology Resource Centers, in addition to conducting workshops, conferences and on-site presentations/demonstrations at locations throughout New York City. Tours for school groups, college classes, senior citizens, and others can be arranged by contacting techworks@ucpnyc.org.
