Cynthia Gomez (far right) and Volunteers
For the fourth consecutive year, UCP of NYC volunteer supporter Cynthia Gomez has helped to make sure the children in our Manhattan Children’s Program receive new winter coats packaged in a party filled with holiday cheer.

On December 18th Gomez and her entourage of charitable elves gathered to throw the now-famous holiday party for UCP of NYC’s Children’s Program. Together with a group of volunteers from Gomez’s dental practice, the Kabbalah Centre, and Sing for Hope, Gomez and friends joined the little ones from our UPK and Pre-School programs for a morning of dancing, singing, storytelling, magic tricks, and arts and crafts. Clapping and jingle-belling could be heard throughout the building; the children were a joyful sight to behold with holiday stickers on their sleeves, new coats on their shoulders, and smiles on their faces. There wasn’t a “bah humbug” in the house.
Not only does Gomez host the coat-drive holiday party extravaganza, she spreads the love and supports our adults as well. This November Gomez hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner for over 100 UCP of NYC adult program participants and staff. Last year she purchased a new flat screen TV so that individuals in the adult programs can have movie nights together, watch their favorite sports team, or play Wii games, like tennis and bowling. Gomez is also a longtime supporter of UCP of NYC’s Santa Project Party, where this year she and a few of her friends took home some of the highest-bid auction items.
Cynthia Gomez is a true friend and a valued supporter of UCP of NYC. She is also a shining example of everything good that happens when a person decides to help others.
Thank you, Cynthia, and ALL of our UCP of NYC volunteers!
