Universal Pre-K

UCP/NYC's Universal Pre-Kindergarten is a creative educational program for four-year olds who live in New York City. Children are exposed to music, art, movement, reading readiness, computers and socialization with their peers, under the supervision of a licensed teacher.

Services
Universal Pre-K classes are offered at our Bronx Children's Program facilities. Services include:

  • comprehensive pre-kindergarten curriculum
  • state of the art outdoor playground
  • weekly inclusionary opportunities with special needs classrooms
  • computers in classrooms
  • nursing and social work services

Hours of Operation
Universal Pre-K is a ten month program beginning in September and ending in June. Classes are five days a week, and are offered in two sessions-8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Extended day placements are offered on a limited basis.

Eligibility
To be eligible for UCP/NYC's Universal Pre-K, a child must be four years old and live in New York City.

Funding
UCP/NYC's Universal Pre-K Program is provided at no cost by the New York City Board of Education. Extended day care program is available on a fee for service basis.

Location and Travel Information
Universal Pre-K is only offered at UCP/NYC's Bronx campus, located at 1770 Stillwell Avenue. Transportation is not provided, but is easily accessible via public transportation. Ample parking is available for those who choose to drive to the center.
