Wish List

A child working on a computer United Cerebral Palsy of New York City has created a "Wish List" for in-kind donations. The items listed here will be used by our programs throughout the city. Donating a wish list item is a great way for an individual or business to help those in their community, and get a tax deduction in the process. If you have any questions, or would like to make a donation, please contact Jennifer Lopez at 212-683-6700 ext. 226.

Books
Who doesn't love to read a new book? Children use books to learn how to read and develop their imaginations. Adults read books to relax and unwind or to learn about somewhere they've never been. We are always in need of books in good to new condition for our programs.

Used Computers and Computer Equipment
Next time you upgrade to a new computer, think about donating your Pentium, Mac, or laptop to UCP/NYC. Just as you use computers for various daily activities, our consumers do too. Computers are used by children in our classrooms, by adults to gain employment skills, and by many as a means of communication. We also need printers, monitors, scanners, keyboards, and software in good condition.

Televisions, VCRs, DVD Players, Camcorders, Cameras, and Other AV Equipment
Televisions, VCRs, and DVD Players are put to good use as audio-visual aids in the classroom, during staff trainings, and in our residences. Camcorders are used both in and out of the classroom and program centers for increasing communication skills, for staff and parent training, and for learning video production skills.

Wheelchairs and Adaptive Equipment
We are in need of manual and power wheelchairs, adaptive strollers, adaptive chairs, standers, shower chairs, walkers and canes in good condition. These items assist both children and adults with disabilities to lead more independent lives. We also accept other types of assistive technology.

Tickets to Local Events
The children and adults participating in our programs welcome the opportunity to visit a theater or museum, attend a sporting event, catch the latest movie, or take a boat ride around Manhattan. By donating tickets to attractions like these, you will be opening up a world of New York City culture and recreation to people with disabilities.

Arts and Craft Supplies/ Painting Supplies
Arts and craft projects are an important part of program activities for many of our consumers, both children and adults. It is a way for them to express themselves creatively. We are in need of supplies such as construction paper, paints and crayons, glue, ribbon and felt. For our adult creative painting group, we are in need of canvas, acrylic paints, and watercolor paper and paints.

Children's Toys
We are in need of age appropriate toys for the infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in our programs. Toys will be used in the classrooms and children's residences, as well as at our Overnight Respite Program. If you prefer, we can arrange for you to deliver the toys yourself so you have a chance to meet the children.

Kitchenware and Small Appliances
For those consumers who live in our residences, there is a need for household items like dishes, glasses, flatware, pots and pans, small appliances and microwaves. We prefer new items or items in excellent condition.

Items we do not accept:
Clothing
Used stuffed toys
Automobiles/Boats
Non-Pentium computers
Most used furniture
