UCP/NYC Featured in the New York Times Focus on Charity Issue
05/19/2010

UCP/NYC is proud to be part of The New York Times' Focus on Charity issue, published May 19, 2010. In an economic climate of concern, this issue emphasizes the important work charity organizations do and the impact they are making on the lives of those in need.

From an interview with UCP/NYC CEO Ed Matthews, The New York Times article highlights not only the great history of our organization and the differences made in the lives of individuals with disabilities since UCP/NYC was founded over 60 years ago, but also looks to the future and all UCP/NYC continues to do to improve the quality of life of those we serve, both in our programs and throughout the city.

As Mr. Matthews says, “We serve thousands of people, one person at time — not taking care of them, but promoting their independence.”
