JI GROUP MAKES ‘HOLIDAY DREAMS’ COME TRUE
Third Annual Charity Event Benefitting United Cerebral Palsy of New York City
The 3rd Annual Holiday Dreams event hosted by the JI (Joint Interest) Group’s V-Force volunteer group was a spectacular success, raising over $13,000 to support UCP/NYC’s Santa Project! This year’s event was held at Amalia, mid-town Manhattan’s premiere restaurant and lounge, and included a live performance by singer/songwriter/producer Rob Murat, games, give-a-ways, a silent auction, raffle, and more.
“There are three objectives of Holiday Dreams,” says Calcie Cooper, JI Group Co-Founder, “to make the holidays festive for people less fortunate, to engage young professionals in a grassroots effort to raise awareness, and to spread and inspire others to give back in the same manner.”
The group worked hard to procure donated auction items that included a walk-on role for an upcoming Tyler Perry feature film, iPod MP3 player, airline tickets, a 4-day, 3-night stay in Barbados’ luxury hotel and spa, The Sugar Cane Club, Yves Saint Laurent items, and much more.
"I feel honored to lead the V-Force, which is made up of a wonderful group of driven and talented people," says Nicole Wescott, who is seamlessly coordinating the group's efforts. "I am here to support them in lending their talent and skills to give back to their community, which is our top priority."
“One small step does make a big difference,” continues Beverly Ellman, Director, Bronx Children’s Program of UCP/NYC. “Because of the countless steps of the donors involved in the JI Group’s fund raising event, a big difference is made in making the holidays a happy and enriching experience for many of the children, adults and families.
And because of the support of dedicated volunteers, donors and guests, we were able to provide gift certificates to all of our Children’s Program participants and their families – making their holidays and lives brighter!
