UCP Initiates Women's Health Services Program

November 19, 2002

(New York, NY) -Many women appreciate and demand health care services geared specifically to their needs and delivered by competent and understanding female practioners. United Cerebral Palsy of New York City's (UCP/NYC) Health Care Services is pleased to offer high quality, sensitive and attentive Women's Health Services.

Focusing on preventative care and health living, UCP/NYC's physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse case managers and health advocates comprise a professional team whose approach is to involve the patient fully in both her routine care and important life decisions. Services are especially focused on simple, effective and ongoing measures that can be taken to prevent serious illness and disease.

"At UCP/NYC, we understand the unique health care needs of women with disabilities-both from a treatment perspective and preventative care focus," notes Sheryl Silfen, M.D. "Come for an initial screening and find out the difference that attentive, quality health care can mean.

The comprehensive range of women's health services include: gynecology, high quality mammograms, sexuality services, menopausal health care, routine medical care, nutrition services and mental health services. Referrals are available for both minor outpatient procedures and major surgery related gynecological issues and breast disease. For women who obtain health care services elsewhere, UCP/NYC is happy to offer second opinions regarding women's health decision.

UCP/NYC Health Care Centers are located in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx. For more information, please contact the Project Connect Dept. at (212) 979-9700, ext. 720.
